Who are your neighbors? Are you friends with them, barely say hi, or avoid them altogether? Tell us a story — real or invented — about the people on the other side of your wall (or street, or farm, or… you get the point).
Living in an apartment building made us vertical neighbors. I was excited because where I came from , people were neighborly. Whenever, I cooked something tasty, I never ate alone, always sent them bowls full.
But..in this place..I was from an enemy land. So, I was labelled as ” bad apple”
Most of the residents are owners and few of us are tenants, of course we pay service charges, yet we are not allowed to use many services. For example, when it comes to using lifts, we are told to take stairs ,since we missed the time during which lifts operates, yet when any of the apartment owner arrives, the lift is put on!
We all got individual car parking space, yet the owners want to park in our parking lot, we asked them to move..they replied we got our parking..well why don’t you use that 😉
The other owner, wanted to repair their old furniture and started to use the parking lot as a carpentry shop..our car accidentally went over one wooden piece and the whole family came and blocked our car and told us to be prepared for a fight, as they obviously out numbered us.
Water is precious, it sometimes doesn’t come..those days we get limited water..but while we are gone everyone uses as much as possible.. after we return from work..no one wants to turn on the water pump..as no one cooks at this odd time.
The people living over our floor , hangs their clothes covering our veranda..when we complained the answer was..it is not a problem..sure it isn’t for you 🙂
Ah!! living in an apartment is a rehearsal to get trained for a good fight anywhere with anyone.Welcome to the real world. Know your neighbors and beware 🙂 they can chew
